Why a man who had no mentor spends his life building them. BreakthruPreneurs exists because Lorenzo Zesati broke a generational pattern of abuse, absence, and anger by putting God first, health second, and family third, before business.

East Los Angeles
Lorenzo grew up in the projects with an abusive, alcoholic father. His father threatened him if he played baseball, the thing he loved most, so he played in secret. He climbed junkyard fences at five in the morning on Saturdays to find lost baseballs and hid his equipment where it would not be found.
At fourteen he had to physically defend himself from his father's violence.
That childhood built survival skills. It also taught him exactly what happens to a young man with nobody ahead of him on the road.
One Man Noticed
Richard Nieto ran the park in East Los Angeles. He gave Lorenzo duties to keep him off the street. He bought his baseball gear when there was no money for it. He taught a kid how to run an operation years before anyone called it that.
Every mentor relationship in this organization traces back to one man who paid attention to a boy nobody else was paying attention to.
What Changed the Trajectory
Lorenzo came to Christ at seventeen through expository teaching at Grace Community Church. It moved him out of anger and survival and into faith and purpose.
He met Michelle in 1999 and married her in 2000. They were baptized together. He says plainly that she taught him how to love, which is not a thing he learned at home. They have three children.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

What He Refused to Repeat
His father modeled abuse, alcoholism, absence, and the three C's: complaining, criticizing, condemning.
Lorenzo built the opposite on purpose. Serving his wife rather than being served. Physically and emotionally present with his children. Operating with integrity when compromise was more profitable. Coaching baseball for thirty years so he would be at the games. Building businesses that support a family instead of consuming one.
Breaking that pattern is not a marketing story. It is the reason this organization exists.
Why This Exists
Twenty-eight years of building businesses and serving hundreds of entrepreneurs showed him a group nobody was serving. Married Christian businessmen with children, who look successful from the outside and are struggling quietly on the inside.
No framework for integrating faith into a Tuesday business decision. A priority order that got reversed somewhere along the way. Health spent on the business. A marriage under strain because the business never stops asking. Fathering by provision. And almost nobody around them who carries all of it at once.
BreakthruPreneurs started in January 2025 with a small group of men. It is being rebuilt now for a relaunch, and it exists so that no man in our reach has to figure this out alone.
What he kept seeing
Good men, faithful husbands, loving fathers, and successful business leaders losing what matters most:
- Spiritual emptiness from neglecting God as their center
- Health crises from years of neglect
- Marriages strained by overwork and absence
- Distance from their children because the business came first
- Financial instability from poor planning
These are not statistics. They are lives, families, and legacies. That burden became Lorenzo's calling.
What We Believe
We are unapologetically, biblically Christian, and we do not soften it to widen the room.
What We Ask Every Member to Affirm
Every member of BP affirms, with a clear conscience, these essentials of the Christian faith:
- There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead.
- The Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. We recognize no additional scripture. Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, and cannot be earned by our works.
- Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman.
A Note on Leadership Convictions
BreakthruPreneurs leadership holds the conviction that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and we teach from that conviction. Men from other Christian traditions who sincerely affirm the essentials above are fully welcome as brothers. We choose to stand together on what unites us in Christ and to discuss our differences with humility and love.
We are independent of any church. Lorenzo and his family attend Sun Valley Community Church in Gilbert.
